Nintendogs

Earlier this year, Nintendogs produced a huge success in Japan and the U.S., selling 250,000 copies in its first week introduced in the U.S. and strongly appealing to female audiences in Japan showed Nintendo's great success with the dog simulator. Now, Europe falls prey to the Nintendogs craze. In its first weekend it sold a whopping 160,000 copies.

This only adds to Nintendogs sales around the world; it has sold 1.5 million copies world wide. Jim Merrick, Nintendo of Europe's Senior Director of Marketing, stated that, "Nintendogs is clearly helping sell new Nintendo DS hardware, Nintendo DS sales are up between 400 - 700 per cent across Europe; this will further cement our position as leader in the portable market."

Nintendogs has enormously helped Nintendo prove its beliefs in using "new" and "innovative" ideas to make fun experiences the company will be bringing to players with its dual screen wonder, along with titles such as Brain Training and Trauma Center: Under the Knife. Hopefully we can expect the same successes from Nintendo’s next-gen consoles games.
