Nintendo has announced to Aussie-Nintendo.com that there will be a new way to connect to other DS and Revolution consoles, even if you don't have a wireless router. This, ladies and gentleman, is an accessory in the making.
Nintendo announced plans to create a USB 2.0 device accessory yesterday morning so that gamers without a wireless router/internet connection installed can connect to other DS and Revolution systems using Nintendo’s WiFi network.
A Nintendo representative along with a number of other reps commented the following to an Australian gaming website: "Basically, instead of an accessory that will let you go non-wireless, this accessory will make your current Internet connection compatible with WiFi."
There is no release date or price set on this, but with the Revolution coming out some time in 2006 and the DS WiFi network coming out at the end of this year, it should be soon.
