Another Nex-Gen Survey

Another survey hits the Internet, targeting which consumers are buying which next-gen systems. The Revolution catches up from its mere 5% from the last one.

A strategy group conducted the survey via telephone through the entire United States, a survey that took place from May to June of 2005. About the same number as the last survey that was reported (1500) were questioned. The survey included current-generation consoles, which we admirably took out to focus on what we really want to know, nex-generation consoles. So with that, the percentages may not add up to one hundred.

Now for what you clicked on this article for, the numbers. Thirty-seven percent are considering the PS3, with the Xbox 360 close behind with thirty-four percent. The Revolution must settle for a place in the back for now with a mere fourteen percent. Now, that accounts for eighty-five percent; the others chose current-gen consoles for their next purchases.

That may be bad news for some people, but those that have kept a good watch on gaming news lately know that the percentage jumped from five percent in the previous survey, which is getting to where it should be at considering the lack of information Nintendo has provided its fans as of late. It was also asked what genres each of those people like, and surprisingly the Revolution voters preferred strategy, puzzle, party and platform while first-person shooters and racing fans leaned toward Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

I'm just hoping these numbers will change when the controller comes out.
