Nintendo happily announced today its position as sponsor for the Rip Curl GromSearch 2005 national surfing competition.
Nintendo happily announced today its position as sponsor for the Rip Curl GromSearch 2005 national surfing competition, which will grace nine beaches througout North America before November 7. The company will give the contest's competitors, called "grommets", as well as their fans an opportunity to enjoy the latest Nintendo software at GromSearch events coast-to-coast.
The grommets, who range in age from six to sixteen, will be able to receive a variety of Nintendo prizes and play a number of recent software titles for the Game Boy Advance SP at each of the competition's locations. The list of games available for play at the contest includes WarioWare Twisted! and Mario Golf: Advance Tour. The "Nintendo Wave of the Day" award will honor the grom with the day's best run.
Nintendo and Rip Curl will be bringing the free event, which will be open to the public as well, to nine beaches across North America prior to November 7 of this year. A full list of locations and dates is available at Rip Curl's website.
