The handheld was recently introduced to the Australian media and public, and included in the display was the unit's release date in the region, as well as its price.
In yesterday's--on Australian time, that is-- introduction of the Game Boy Micro in Australia, a number of things were stated about the unit: its place in the Game Boy line, its size and specifications, and why it just might appeal to regional consumers. But arguably the most significant of the outlined details were the unit's price and release date, which were set for $149.99 AUS and November 3, 2005, respectively.
Nintendo of Australia's director of sales and marketing, Rose Lappin, commented on the device, saying, "Game Boy Micro is really going to appeal to the image-conscious gamers. This is a unit that anyone will be comfortable pulling out at a bus stop, in a train or at the cafe. It's so seductively small that once you fit one in your jeans pocket, you will hardly notice it’s there."
The Micro is scheduled for a North American release on September 19 and a European one on November 4.
