NinBit Now Hiring

NinBit is currently hiring for a number of voluntary staff positions.

To increase the content output and accomplish its goals in the grueling holiday season, the NinBit management has deemed it necessary to hire new personnel in various areas for volunteer-based positions.

If you think you have the writing skills and enthusiasm, and would like to get a start or gain experience in videogame journalism, meet like-minded people with a passion for Nintendo, and work as part of a team operating under an organized structure of management, possibly picking up some swag from game companies along the way, NinBit is the place for you. Dedication and hard work could garner you free copies of games for review; you never know, but applying on the assumption that such titles will arrive on your doorstep and nothing more or less is not in your best interest or in the interest of the NinBit staff. We’re seeking those that want to benefit the website in its earlier stages and possibly stay on board for the long haul as a top priority.

That said, spots are open for the following positions, the descriptions of which are included as follows:

  • News Reporter: Undoubtedly the most demanding role on the team, the position of news reporter requires competency in the English language, expendable free time at regular intervals throughout the day, each day, and an attention to detail as well as a knack for unique, concise reporting. He that thinks he’s qualified but doesn’t completely understand the time demands or cannot determine if the job fits within his schedule is encouraged to discuss these issues with the management before reaching a final decision.
  • Staff Writer: Like Jello, the NinBit staff can always accommodate additional writers. Workers in this position are expected to be well versed in both knowledge of English and the games industry, and to publish articles on a reasonably frequent basis. This position covers reviews, previews, editorials, features, and any other type of written article one might see on the site. The management assumes staff writers will adequately research the subject. Promotion based on dedication and longevity is also in effect.
  • Editor: Behind the scenes, editors are at work, fixing grammatical errors and approving articles before they are published on the site. Obviously the most demanding job as far as knowledge of English mechanics are concerned, the placement requires more than the expected qualifications. NinBit editors must be able to offer useful tips to staff writers for improvement, and provide content-related suggestions for the articles to which they are subjected. Editors may also contribute as writers when the opportunity presents itself.

Application Information: To apply, send an e-mail to jobs [at] ninbit [dot] com with the following details:

  • Your Name (first and surname)
  • Your Contact Information (e-mail, instant messaging contacts, any other pertinent info)
  • Your reason for applying
  • Your goals for individual and collective site achievement over the course of your stay
  • Records of prior experience (References are a plus.)
  • A writing sample respective to the position (preferably a game review or preview, with news articles accepted for reporters); editors must revise an article provided by the management in addition to sending a sample work.

Good luck and thank you for your interest.
